The stringed instruments such as bass guitar, Guitar are provided with hollow box called sound box. Because when the strings are set into vibrations, forced vibration are produced in the sound box.

Since the sound box has a large area, it set a large volume of air into vibration. Thus produces a load sound of the same frequency as that of the string.
