1. Fire extinguisher: The gas is used as a fire extinguisher because it does not support combustion and is denser than air.

2. Photosynthesis: Plants make use of carbon dioxide to manufacture food through the process of photosynthesis

3. Manufacture of Sodium carbonate: Carbon dioxide is used in the manufacture of anhydrous sodium carbonate in the Solvay process. Sodium carbonate is used in the manufacture of glass

4. Welding: Carbon dioxide gas is used as a shield gas in welding to prevent the weld puddle from reacting with oxygen when it comes into contact with air.

5.Beverages: Carbon dioxide gas is used to make carbonate soft drinks, soda water, beers and wine. Before artificial carbonation, beer and wine were carbonated through natural fermentation, but it is more convenient to use Carbon dioxide gas instead.
