Culture can be defined as all the behaviours, ways of life, arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that are passed from generation to generation. Culture has been called “the way of life ofan entire society”. As such, it includes codes of manners, dress, language, religion, rituals, norms of behaviour -as law and morality – and systems of beliefs, as well as the arts. The major characteristics of culture are:-

(a) Culture is dynamic; culture changes because people life changes, African culture changes due to the importation if foreign culture from the a middle and far East and Europe, change include the syof religion, dressing style, eating style, education style, customs and traditional.

(b) Culture is Interactive; this is when the culture elements of a certain society is included in another society and become a apart of culture. for example most of customs and tradition such as eating, manner, dressing and religion in Africa are from Europe and Arab World.

(c) Culture is adaptive; When people shift from one geographical area to another their culture will change because of the new environment and activities.

(d) Culture is a complex as a whole; Culture can’t be measured or determined by a single standard unity all over, that means one culture element can be bad in one society but very good in another society.
